Colombia Gets Ready to Welcome Thousands of US Digital Nomads

Colombia Not Only Attracts Tourists, It Turns Some into Digital Nomads

A new analysis of Google search data reveals that the term "digital nomad visa Colombia" has reached an average of 2,460 monthly searches throughout 2024. 31% of these searches originate in the United States, while a surprising 22% come from Colombia itself, revealing an interesting phenomenon: many digital nomads are already in Colombia as tourists and, falling in love with the country, decide to stay.

"We have observed that a large number of interested parties are already in Colombia when they contact us," says Camila Ocampo, an expert immigration lawyer and owner of the firm Colombian Passport. "They arrive with the intention of exploring the country, but then they realize they want to stay longer."

Judging by the figures, most tourists seeking to become Digital Nomads in Colombia are in Antioquia (40%), Bogotá (26%) and Valle del Cauca (8%).

As for the United States, almost half of the searches come from Florida (15%), California (11%), Texas (10%) and New York (9%).
