Urgent Visa Alert: Unjustified Inadmissions & SITAC Maintenance (March 13th)

2026-03-13

If you tried to log into the SITAC portal today and found it unresponsive, don't panic. The Cancillería has scheduled a maintenance window for today, Friday, March 13th.

However, behind the technical downtime, we are seeing a highly atypical and alarming trend at Colombian Passport this week. Here is the reality of the current security and processing landscape:

1. The Wave of "Discretionary" Inadmissions We are witnessing a massive wave of applications being classified as Inadmitida (Inadmitted). The alarming part? These are perfectly structured files that meet every single legal requirement. The Cancillería is heavily leaning on its "discretionary power" to return applications without providing any logical or legal reason. We believe this is a direct consequence of the post-election backlog and internal warnings regarding "anti-juridical risks." They are clearing their overflowing queues by dismissing flawless applications.

2. The "Surprise" Consulate Interviews Even more concerning, applicants applying through consulates abroad are suddenly being summoned for in-person interviews with only a few days left on their statutory 30-day processing clock. It appears to be a bureaucratic tactic: if you cannot secure travel to the consulate in 48 hours, your case is classified as Desestimada (Dismissed). It clears their queue, but leaves you without a visa.

3. The Colombian Passport Guarantee (DIY vs. Hiring Us) If you apply on your own, fall victim to this discretionary trap, and get inadmitted, you lose your government fees, your time, and you are left completely exposed.

If you are a client of Colombian Passport, you are shielded. If the government arbitrarily inadmits your flawless application, we will re-apply on your behalf without charging any additional legal fees. Furthermore, we don't just submit it again—we escalate. We reinforce the suitability of your application by legally demanding clear explanations from the reviewing officials, closing the gap on their discretionary power.

Camila’s Strategic Advice: "The system is saturated, and the government is using its discretionary power to alleviate its workload. If you applied abroad, monitor your inbox daily. If you are about to apply, do not face this arbitrary system alone. Let our legal team bulletproof your application and provide the guarantee you need."
